Back becks for knighthood

| 19.12.2010

DAVID BECKHAM is odds-on for knighthood, according to bookies Ladbrokes, who make him just a 1/3 chance to get knighted in his lifetime.

Following on from his lifetime achievement award at the prestigious Sports Personality of The Year bash in Birmingham, he is a 14/1 chance to be knighted in 2012.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “We will be crying tears bigger tears than Beckham did in Birmingham when he gets knighted. It’s starting to look like a certainty and the only question now is when.”
