Richards convinced Man City will be real contenders for title

Manchester City defender Micah Richards believes his side have nothing to worry about, despite their 1-1 draw with Stoke at the weekend.

Richards put the Citizens 1-0 up with 10 minutes to go before Matt Etherington equalized for the home side in injury time.
The Citizens are third favourites at 9/1 to win their first Premier League title.

However, the Stoke draw was City’s third in their previous four games and has seen them slip five points behind Premier League leaders and bitter rivals Manchester United.

Despite their disappointing draw, Richards is keen to nip all the talk of underachievement in the bud.

He said: “It’s going to be really tight. It’s getting harder every year but I’m sure we’ll be alright.

“I don’t know what the panic was about. We’re right up there and we are all happy with the way it is going.”

City’s next game is against Salzburg on Wednesday with a win at 1/5 going a long way to securing their progression to the next round of the Europa League.

They were hugely disappointing in their 3-1 defeat in their last Europa League clash against Lech Poznan, but should be backed against the team they comfortably dispatched 2-0 in September.
