QPR’s unbeaten record under threat in Portsmouth clash

| 09.11.2010

QPR may have moved back to the head of the Championship but they face a tough challenge next as they travel to one of the form teams in the division in Portsmouth.

Neil Warnock’s team are still unbeaten this season after 15 games, but have drawn four of their last five Championship fixtures.

Portsmouth lost their first game in almost two months when being defeated by Derby and will be keen to get their promotion quest back on track at their home ground.

Four of the last five meetings between the pair have ended all square and the draw may prove the best bet again at 23/10.

Portsmouth are 6/4 to inflict a first defeat on QPR this season, while the visitors are 9/5 to land the spoils and remain at the head of the Championship standings.

Ipswich and Derby are both in play-off spots looking to take advantage of QPR mistakes and meet in another crunch Championship clash.

Roy Keane’s team have beaten Derby in their last five meetings, including in both league showdowns last season.

Ipswich have also won their last three games in all competitions and are 11/10 to extend this run with a victory over Derby.

Derby have scored six times in their last two Championship fixtures and a continuation of this scoring form should mean they have too much for Ipswich, with a win priced at 5/2.

Coventry are another side occupying one of the play-off places, but they are likely to find it tough to remain there as they head to Nottingham Forest.

Forest have not played particularly well this season, but an unbeaten home record has ensured that they have remained on the fringes of the Championship promotion picture.

They are 10/11 to beat Coventry, with Lewis McGugan scoring in four of their last five games.

He is 5/1 to strike first against Coventry, with the visitors 3/1 to leave with the three points.

Nottingham Forest have won their last two home games with Coventry without conceding a goal. See the full Nottingham Forest vs Coventry match betting odds market.
