Nadal too big at 4/7 to beat Berdych in straight sets in London

Rafael Nadal is 4/7 to beat Tomas Berdych in their Group A showdown in straight sets at the ATP Tour Finals and based on their recent history, the result seems like a sure thing.

Nadal has been dominant against Tomas Berdych in the last three years and a continuation of this streak in their upcoming clash in London would secure his spot in the semi-finals as group winner.

The world number one has not been beaten by Berdych since 2007, which is a run of seven successive matches, including in the Wimbledon final earlier this year.

Furthermore, Nadal has not even dropped a set in these seven victories, making it difficult to bet against him beating the Czech again.

More conservative punters may be satisfied with the 1/5 on Nadal simply beating Berdych, to follow up on the group successes he has already enjoyed over Andy Roddick and Novak Djokovic.

Nadal looked supreme in arguably what many thought would be his hardest group match against Djokovic and if he gets anywhere close to replicating this performance, he should progress comfortably.

Berdych still has chances of reaching the semi finals himself following his victory over Roddick and could even progress if he loses, depending on the result of the other Group A encounter between the American and Djokovic.

It is 10/3 that Berdych beats Nadal to give himself the best possible chance of progression and may take confidence from the fact that all his three career victories have all come on hard courts.

If Roddick beats Djokovic in straight sets then there is still a chance that Berdych could make the last four as long as he takes Nadal to three sets.

Berdych is 5/4 to win at least one set against Nadal, while Nadal is 5/1 to lose the first set and still go on to win the match.

A £10 bet on Nadal winning the first set 7-5 would win £100. New Ladbrokes customers can sign up here for a free £10 bet.
