Katie causes more controversy on X Factor in contract rumour

Published:

Katie Waissel runs the risk of potentially being disqualified from the X Factor after it has been speculated that her vocals feature on a new track released in the US.

Reports have revealed that Katie’s vocals are present on a track by David Reed entitled ‘Moving Mountains’, although they are under the name of Lola Fontaine.

X Factor rules state that a contestant is not allowed to be signed to a current recording contract and Katie has already been caught up in one such rule breach before.

Ahead of the live shows it was uncovered that Katie had a US deal with Chamberlain Records and lawyers were brought in to get her out of the deal so she could take her place as one of the acts in Cheryl Cole’s girls category.

However, it now seems that all ties between the pair were not completely severed.

The rumours will spark even more controversy in Katie’s direction as she became the first act in X Factor history to successfully escape being voted off in four sing offs.

Aiden Grimshaw was the latest casualty in a head-to-head battle with Katie as he got the lowest votes after the judges could not separate the pair.

Katie’s survival means that Cheryl has the most acts remaining in the competition, but based on the lack of friends that Katie has with the viewing public, there is a strong possibility that only Cher Lloyd and Rebecca Ferguson will be left after next week.

It is 5/6 that Katie is the ninth act eliminated from the X Factor, while odds of 80/1 are available that the voting public have a complete turnaround in attitude and vote for her to win the show.

Aiden’s elimination has made Cheryl favourite to be the winning mentor at 11/8. See the full X Factor specials betting odds market.
