Hulk leading shortlist to join Tevez in shooting Man City to title

With Manchester City needing a player to ease the scoring burden on Carlos Tevez, Roberto Mancini is said to be targeting Hulk to help fire them towards the Premier League title.

Hulk has 11 goals in ten league games for Porto this season as the team seem destined to run away with the Portuguese title after dropping just two points in their opening 11 fixtures.

This has brought him to the attention of a number of top European clubs, with City’s financial advantage likely to put them at the head of the queue to secure his signature.

Mancini’s team are only three points off top spot, for which Tevez is to thank for scoring nine of their 19 goals in the 14 fixtures so far.

This has left them 9/1 to win the Premier League, but it is unlikely that Tevez will be able to continue this scoring ratio for the remainder of the season.

It is not as if Mancini does not have other strikers at his disposal to partner with Tevez in attack, but with Emmanuel Adebayor seemingly keen to leave Eastlands and Jo and Roque Santa Cruz apparently not good enough, Mario Balotelli is seen as the only suitable option.

Therefore a delve into the transfer market in January for a forward is virtually guaranteed, with Hulk joining the likes of Eden Dzeko on the Manchester City radar.

However, with Hulk likely to be able to leave Porto for around £20m, this would prove the far cheaper option.

Manchester City travel to Stoke in the Premier League next and are 6/5 to leave with the three points.

Aside from Tevez, Balotelli and Yaya Toure are the only other Manchester City players to have scored more than once in the Premier League this season.

A £10 bet on Tevez finishing as the Premier League top scorer this season will win £25. New Ladbrokes customers can sign up here for a free £10 bet.
