Home wins represent the best betting value in Group D

Published:

Group D is already one of the tightest to call in the Europa League and two potential home wins in the fourth round of fixtures could be set to make the standings even closer.

Villarreal currently lead the group by two points but despite being strong domestically and in Europe at home, they are far more inconsistent on their travels.

They head to Greece to play PAOK next and are 11/10 to secure the three points.

History suggests that Villarreal have a strong chance of success as they are yet to lose in their five games against Greek opposition and they have won on four of these occasions.

Both of their away victories in Greece have been 2-1 and it is 8/1 that Villarreal beat PAOK 2-1 this season.

For the hosts, they won their only home Group D game so far against Dinamo Zagreb and they are 12/5 to beat Villarreal.

Club Brugge are still to win in the group, which has left them at the bottom of the standings, but they will still be optimistic of their chances of going through as two of their three remaining games are in Belgium.

They have scored 16 goals in their six home games in the Belgian top flight and will want to continue this scoring streak when they entertain Dinamo Zagreb.

The pair drew 0-0 in their first game in Croatia and Club Brugge are 11/10 to beat Dinamo Zagreb in the second meeting.

Zagreb are 12/5 to take the vital three points, but to do so they will have to end Brugge’s five-game unbeaten run at home in European competition.

Ronald Vargas has 11 goals in 12 league games for Brugge this season and could be a contender to be the first goalscorer against Zagreb. See the complete Club Brugge vs Dinamo Zagreb match betting odds market.
