Haye vs Harrison Betting Odds

Published:

Audley Harrison may have a puncher’s chance of becoming the new WBA World Heavyweight champion, but it remains to be seen if he will get close enough to land his heavy shots against David Haye.

Fight Result

Haye is the heavy 1/7 favourite in the boxing betting odds to beat Harrison to make a second successive defence of the world title he took from Nikolai Valuev almost a year ago to the day.

Being a former cruiserweight, Haye clearly has the speed advantage and will look to use his faster hand speed to land some telling blows, while also escaping back out of harm’s way to avoid Harrison’s truly heavyweight jab.

Despite taking gold at the 2000 Olympic Games and winning the recent heavyweight Prizefighter competition to earn his title shot, Harrison does have previous for freezing on the biggest stage.

The fight clearly represents his biggest career fight, while also being his toughest challenge in terms of the level of his opponent.

Harrison is 5/1 to beat Haye and become new champion, but it cannot be overlooked that he has been defeated by Belfast taxi driver Martin Rogan in the past two years.

How Will The Fight Be Won

One such ending to the fight which is virtually guaranteed not to materialise is a Harrison victory via the judge’s scorecard.

It is 16/1 that Harrison wins by decision and he has shown a reluctance in the past to get close enough to opponents to even land a punch, let alone win a round on points.

However, Lennox Lewis agrees that he possesses the power to stop Haye and so any Harrison supporters may as well back the 13/2 that he wins by TKO.

Haye is 3/10 to win by TKO, while 9/2 on offer that he reclaims his belt by decision. See the complete Haye vs Harrison fight betting odds market.
