Groups announced for the ATP World Tour finals in London

Andy Murray will face Roger Federer, Robin Soderling and David Ferrer in Group B of the ATP World Tour finals.

Andy Murray could’ve faced a ATP World Tour finals group which included two of the world’s top three players, instead Murray will have to beat Soderling, the man who took Murray’s world number four ranking, to progress to the knock-out stages.

Murray was drawn in Federer’s group last year and subsequently lost to the then world number one, but having beaten the world number two in Shanghai a few weeks ago, Murray will fancy his chances and is 9/2 to win the ATP World Tour finals.

Group A consists of Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Tomas Berdych and Andy Roddick and with Nadal’s troublesome shoulder injury, it seems this group is wide open.

The world’s top eight tennis players are in London eagerly anticipating the final event of the ATP calendar that starts on Saturday, and Roger Federer currently heads the ATP World Tour finals betting market at 5/2.

But Federer could only manage a semi-final appearance last year, losing to eventual winner Nikolay Davydenko whose victory offers hope to the likes of Roddick, Berdych and Ferrer.

Both Berdych and Ferrer missed out on last years tournament and will be eager to prove they rightfully deserve a place amongst the world’s elite, but both players are the 25/1 outsiders in the online tennis betting.

Nadal’s shoulder injury is worrying for the Spaniard and with the 2011 season starting so soon after the 2010 season closes, it may be that Nadal won’t be at 100% fitness for the tournament.

Djokovic lost his world number two ranking to Federer a few weeks ago and the Serb will be determined to get it back – Djokovic is 4/1 to win in the ATP World Tour finals betting.

Roddick has found his form towards the end of the season and is 14/1 to win in London. See the full ATP World Tour Finals London betting odds here.
