Expect at least three goals as Roma look to derail Bayern
Published:There is every reason to suggest that a minimum of three goals will be scored in the Champions League Group E clash between Roma and Bayern, while a strong case can also be made as to why the three points will be claimed by the hosts.
Both of Roma’s home games in the group so far have seen at least three goals scored, while this has been matched in Bayern’s two away fixtures.
Therefore the 4/6 offered on the game having over 2.5 goals seems the stand-out bet.
With Bayern having already qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League after winning their opening four Group E games, there is little for them to really play for in their clash with Roma.
And with Roma almost virtually ensuring they join Bayern in the last 16 with a win over the Germans, the 4/5 on offer for a home win looks a logical bet.
However, Roma have been beaten by Bayern in their three most recent meetings, including in their away game in Germany earlier in the group.
Furthermore, Bayern have triumphed in their last three away games in the Champions League and are a potentially big 10/3 to beat Roma.
The other group game has much more at stake with the loser between Basel and CFR Cluj unable to reach the knockout stages of the competition.
Not only did Cluj win their home game with Basel earlier in the group, but they may also take confidence in the fact that the Swiss outfit have lost five Champions League group games in succession on their own patch.
Cluj are 9/2 to beat Basel, although to do so they will have to win for the first time away from home in Europe in nine games.
