Mourinho will not allow Real Madrid to let up against Ajax

Real Madrid may have already qualified from Group G of the Champions League, but manager Jose Mourinho is unlikely to accept anything other than a professional performance in their outing away at Ajax.

Mourinho is still unbeaten as Real Madrid boss since taking over in the summer and they still require one point to ensure their progress to the last 16 as group winners.

Therefore, Real Madrid’s betting odds of 5/4 to beat Ajax with Ladbrokes, which is the best price on the market, seems on the lengthy side, even if they are without Sami Khedira and Gonzalo Higuain.

Ajax are unbeaten at home in Europe this season and have avoided defeat in 11 of their 13 career home games against Spanish opposition.

However, they are unlikely to have the defensive quality required to shut out a Real Madrid team that have scored 21 goals in their last six league games.

AC Milan just about hold second spot in the group, but their problematic injury list may cause them to struggle to take maximum points from their trip to Auxerre, with a draw looking like the obvious result.

Andrea Pirlo is the latest addition to the list that already includes the likes of Alexandre Pato and Massimo Oddo.

The fact that Milan have only managed eight goals in their six away league games means they may struggle to blow away Auxerre, who themselves have shared their points in four of their seven domestic fixtures at home.

It is 23/10 that Auxerre draw with Milan and the same price that they beat the current Serie A table toppers.

Milan have managed to win their last four league games and are 6/5 to carry this record into Europe, although they have failed to win their opening two Group G games away from the San Siro.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has scored in all of Milan’s last three Serie A games and odds of 22/1 are offered that he scores first and the game finishes 1-1. See the full Auxerre vs Milan football betting odds market.
