Djokovic vs Roddick – Roddick huge at 4/1 to beat Djokovic 2-0

Many may have written off Andy Roddick’s chances of qualifying after losing to Tomas Berdych, but the American has a slight chance of progressing should he repeat his recent form over Novak Djokovic.

Roddick is 2/1 to beat Djokovic and must do so in straight sets and hope Rafael Nadal beats Berdych in straight sets to qualify.

Considering his 5-2 head-to-head advantage over Djokovic, and the fact he has beaten the Serb 2-0 on the last three occasions, Roddick has a great chance of progressing.

World number three Djokovic is favourite to beat Roddick at 4/11, but Djokovic’s only two wins over Roddick came in 2007 and 2008 and it’s been four matches since he last registered a victory over the American.

However Djokovic needs just a set in his match with Andy Roddick should Berdych not beat Nadal to ensure qualification, and the Serb is 1/2 to win the first set.

In the seven games between the two, only two sets have been dropped by the winner and they came in the 2009 Australian Open and 2008 US Open which are played over five sets.

All of the ties between the two over three sets have been won in straight sets and exactly two sets in the match is available at 8/15 with Djokovic 1/1 to win in straight sets.

With the match not expected to be tight, there is some value to be found in the total games market and under 22.5 games is available at 5/6.

The two have played out five tiebreaks in the 18 sets they’ve competed in, and you can get 4/5 that there is a tiebreak in the match and 12/5 that said tiebreak occurs in the first set.

A £10 stake on Roddick winning the first set 6-2 would return £190. New customers can sign up here for a free £10 bet.
