Burton visit the fortress that is Chesterfield’s B2net stadium

Published:

On paper the tie between top of the league Chesterfield and 14th placed Burton Albion is a no-brainer.

Chesterfield sit atop of League Two because of their fine home record, dropping just two points in eight home games all season after a freak 5-5 draw with Accrington Stanley.

Meanwhile Burton Albion are winless in their last seven away league games and are the underdogs to beat Chesterfield at 4/1.

Chesterfield are 8/11 to beat Burton Albion and that seems brilliant value considering the Chelsea vs Sunderland Premier League game offers similar form to these two teams, yet Chelsea are 1/5 to beat Sunderland.

The two sides have only met three times and Burton are yet to win, although they did mange at 2-2 draw at the Pirelli stadium last season.

Northampton vs Port Vale

Port Vale travel to Northampton looking to close the three-point gap on Chesterfield, but Vale were unable to take the three points from Northampton last season.

At the Sixfields stadium, the two sides drew 1-1 and the same result is available at 11/2, with the draw priced at 12/5.

Northampton had been on a five game losing streak, but consecutive wins has seen some faith return to the Cobblers faithful, and while Vale are a different proposition to Lincoln and Gillingham, it may be worth taking a punt on Northampton at 17/10.

Stevenage vs Shrewsbury

The two sides have only ever met previously in the conference, where the home team won on both occasions.

Stevenage may only be four places behind Shrewsbury, but are five points adrift and a win for Shrewsbury would enhance their automatic promotion credentials and they are 11/5 to win.

But Stevenage have drawn seven of their 15 games this season and another draw looks on the cards at Broadhall Way and is priced at 12/5.

Stevenage are 6/5 to beat Shrewsbury. See the full League Two football betting odds here.
