Bet on Cluj vs Bayern – Munich victory no banker in Romania

Bayern Munich have one of the better away records in the Champions League and a continuation of their good form on their travels against CFR Cluj will guarantee their appearance in the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Louis van Gaal’s team have triumphed in four of their seven away Champions League outings since the start of last season and this was one of the reasons that they made the final in May before losing to Inter Milan.

After winning their opening three Group E games Bayern are in pole position in the standings and a victory over Cluj, which is priced at 4/5, would maintain their 100 per cent record.

Cluj are 7/2 to beat Bayern and will take confidence from the 3-2 defeat they suffered in the reverse fixture in Germany, where their cause was not helped by scoring two own goals.

The Romanians did win their only Group E home game to date in the opening round of fixtures against Basel.

Basel and Roma square off in the other Group E clash and will both know the importance of securing victory.

The pair both sit on three points with Cluj and any success will provide a major boost in any aspirations to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League.

History suggests that Basel have a strong chance at home, as they beat Roma in Switzerland in the competition last season, while also already taking the three points in Rome this year.

Basel are 7/4 to beat Roma and have tended to be strong at home in Europe recently, winning seven of their nine games at St Jakob-Park since the start of last season.

Roma have never won on their four visits to Switzerland, but are 8/5 to end this streak. See the whole Basel vs Roma match betting odds market.
