Ballardini out to bring to an end Juventus’ unbeaten streak

Published:

Genoa will be hoping that new boss Davide Ballardini maintains his 100 per cent winning start as they look to secure the three points against one of their biggest Serie A bogey teams.

Juventus have scored more goals against Genoa than any other team and have won eight of the last 13 meetings between the pair, losing just once.

Goals have also been a feature of the pair’s most recent showdowns, with 19 goals scored in the last four meetings.

It is 6/4 that Juventus beat Genoa and stretch their unbeaten league record this season to nine games.

Despite a high-scoring game looking likely, Ballardini’s first two games in charge of Genoa have been 1-0 victories, while they have won three of their last four at home.

Genoa are 15/8 in the Serie A betting odds market to beat Juventus, while a trademark 1-0 win is available at 6/1.

This result is perhaps even more likely as Juventus have only let in two goals in their last five away games.

Elsewhere, Napoli will want to maintain their position at the head of the chasing pack behind AC Milan and Lazio by securing maximum points at home to Bologna.

Napoli have only lost one of their last 13 home games with Bologna in Serie A and are 1/2 to beat them again.

For Bologna, away victories are proving hard to come by as they have not won on the road since February.

In the period since they have lost seven of their 12 away games, including on the last three occasions.

Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi have been responsible for all of Napoli’s last six goals and are 4/1 and 6/1 respectively to open the scoring against Bologna.

Cavani in particular has been in blistering form this season and is joint top scorer in Serie A with Inter Milan’s Samuel Eto’o with eight goals apiece. See the full Serie A football betting market.
