Atletico Madrid to move ahead of Espanyol in La Liga standings

The fact that Atletico Madrid have a strong home record against Espanyol and do not concede many goals at the Vicente Calderon means that they should take the three points in the meeting between the two this season.

Atletico have let in just three goals in their six home matches this season and this form is primarily the reason why they are sixth in the standings.

Quique Sánchez Flores’ side are 7/10 to beat Espanyol as they have on the last two showdowns between the two at the Vicente Calderon.

As good as Atletico have been at home, Espanyol have been away.

If ever there was a tale of two opposites then it is at Espanyol, who have won all six of their home fixtures.

However, they have won just one of their six games on their travels and this came in the only away game in which they have managed to score – a 1-0 success at Mallorca.

Espanyol are 9/2 to beat Atletico Madrid.

Getafe are another team who struggle for goals on their travels and this could prove their downfall when they head to Sevilla.

The Azulones have failed to score in their last three away games, while they have not won in their last seven games in all competitions.

Therefore, it is unsurprising that they are heavy underdogs at 5/1 to beat Sevilla.

The hosts recently had their four-game winning run ended by Mallorca, but there is every chance they will re-establish their winning mentality and are 8/13 to beat Getafe.

Alvaro Negredo is the favourite to score the game’s first goal at 3/1 and he has already found the target five times in La Liga for Sevilla this season.

A £10 bet on Sevilla beating Getafe 3-0 would lead to potentially winning £100. New Ladbrokes customers can sign up here for a free £10 bet.
