Aiden to calm intensity and sing a happy song on X Factor
Aiden Grimshaw has been criticised for the high intensity of his X Factor performances in the past, but this week the voting public will get to see a new side of the 18-year-old.
Mentor Dannii Minogue has chosen to stick with what Aiden does best on the talent show so far, with deep performances of songs including ‘Diamonds Are Forever’, ‘Mad World’ and ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’.
However, although not disclosing which song he will sing in the Elton John-themed week, Aiden indicated on his official video diary that it would be a change from the norm.
He said: “This week I’ve got quite a happy song, yeah it’s happy and quite upbeat. It’s cool and I’m very excited.”
Aiden was also full of praise for Dannii and remarked that she is the “best mentor in the world”.
His powerful performances have helped Aiden build up a unique fanbase and it remains to be seen whether they will have the same appreciation for his next show.
If all goes badly Aiden could become the eighth act eliminated from the X Factor and this can be backed at 14/1.
Vica versa, an impressive display showing extra versatility could earn Aiden additional fans and increase his chances of winning the X Factor, which is currently a 20/1 shot.
Dannii is one of two mentors to still have three acts performing in the competition, with 11/8 favourite Matt Cardle and Paije Richardson still in the running.
This gives Danni a strong hand of mentoring the winner for the second time and it is 11/10 in the X Factor betting odds that she has the winning act.
Meanwhile, Aiden is 7/1 to be the last remaining contestant from the boys category left in the competition. See the full X Factor specials betting odds markets.
