Wagner Betting Odds

It seems to have become part of the routine on talent shows that one of the least talented performers stays far longer than they should and Wagner seems to fit this criteria on this year’s X Factor.

Louis Walsh picked the former PE teacher as his wildcard act in the over 28 category and he has so far managed to avoid being sent out of the competition during the first two live TV shows.

Chico and Jedward are past examples of acts that have made the latter stages of the competition with arguably little talent as the voting audience keep in contestants who provide them with the biggest giggles.

However, it has often been the case that once one of their favourite acts become close to being voted out, viewers change their strategy and send home the least talented.

This technique will mean that the odds of 100/1 for Wagner to win the X Factor are about right, but it would be no surprise to still see him having fun at the halfway point of the live shows.

It is also not beyond the realms of possibility that he is the final over 28 left in the competition and 12/1 is on offer that he survives longer than Mary Byrne and John Adeleye.

Another thing more likely than Wagner winning is the chance of him being the next act eliminated from the X Factor, which is available at 5/2.

His renditions of the Ricky Martin hit “She Bangs” and Tom Jones’ “Help Yourself” have already been the topic of much debate and similar performances can be expected for as long as Wagner remains in the competition.

The X Factor specials market also offers 20/1 that Wagner will record a duet with Mary next year that makes it to number one in the charts.
