Vale and Torquay will struggle to end losing streak on Saturday
Published:Port Vale manager Micky Adams is searching for a solution to end his sides winless streak, but he’s unlikely to find it in Cheltenham on Saturday.
After being backed into 7/2 to win League Two, Port Vale have gone four games without a win and are starting to feel the pressure that favouritism brings.
Vale have drifted slightly to 4/1 but that will drift further if they fail to win at Whaddon Road on Saturday and they are 7/5 to beat Cheltenham.
Last season the two sides shared the spoils on both occasions, drawing 1-1 in both games and the same scoreline to happen on Saturday is 11/2 with the draw available at 11/5.
Wesley Thomas and Marc Richards are both on seven goals for their respective clubs and are 6/1 and 5/1 to score first, but these encounters haven’t produced many goals, just five in the four games at Whaddon Road and 37/50 is available for the game to produce under 2.5 goals.
Gillingham vs Torquay United
Touquay have also suffered a fall from grace, they are winless in their last 10, and have drifted to 16/1 to win League Two after being 5/1 favourites at the end of August.
Gillingham are unbeaten in their last four home games, keeping three clean sheets in that time and are 6/5 to win on Saturday.
The two sides haven’t met since the 2002/03 season so recent form between the two is non-existent and Torquay’s poor streak would explain their 11/5 odds.
However Torquay have conceded 16 times in their ten game losing streak and under 2.5 goals is available at 41/50.
Despite it being eight years since the two sides met, Gillingham were 1-0 victors on the last occasion and you can get 7/1 that the scoreline will finish the same way on Saturday.
Torquay would take a point and the draw is available at 12/5. See the full NPower League Two football betting odds market here.
