Unpredictable Huddersfield thump Colchester in League One
Lee Clark’s Huddersfield recaptured the form that took them to the play offs last season by thumping Colchester 3-0 in Essex at the weekend.
The Terriers have been inconsistent so far this campaign and had lost their last three league games, but they turned in a terrific performance at the weekend, with last season’s top scorer Jordan Rhodes among the goals.
He netted 19 goals last season and has five so far this year, with a price of 10/1 to end the season as League One’s top scorer.
Leaders Brighton were held at home by fourth place Bournemouth and had their lead at the top cut to three points by Carlisle, who overcame Notts County to go second.
Peterborough fell to third after a surprising defeat away at Hartlepool and Rochdale also suffered a shock reverse, dropping out of the play off positions after a home defeat to Yeovil.
MK Dons fared better, posting a 2-0 win over struggling Dagenham and Redbridge to go eighth in the table.
Southampton continued their revival with a 2-0 win over Tranmere and are still priced as favourites at 3/1 to return to the Championship.
Just behind them at 5/1 are Sheffield Wednesday, who celebrated their new boardroom investment with a win over Leyton Orient.
Hotly tipped Charlton continue to frustrate, drawing 2-2 with Plymouth to remain in a disapointing 10th place.
Initially billed as one of the favourites for promotion, the Addicks are now 16/1 to win League One.
Also currently disappointing everyone in 15th, Swindon are in action tonight at Bristol Rovers and are priced at 1/1 to kick start their play off assault with a win.
Brentford returned to the bottom of the table after they lost at home to Oldham, whilst previous occupants Walsall won their first match in nine to move out of the bottom four.
