Real Madrid vs AC Milan – Mourinho magic to ensure Madrid revenge

Published:

AC Milan held the advantage over Real Madrid when they clashed in the group stages of the Champions League last season and they will be keen to secure the upper hand again this year.

Milan took four points off Real Madrid last season, which included a 3-2 victory in Spain.

However, with Jose Mourinho now at the helm, Real Madrid are likely to be even tougher opponents and are 8/13 to beat Milan.

Madrid have won both of their opening Group G games and Mourinho will be keen to secure another win against his chief rivals from his time as boss of Inter.

Milan have not proven the best travellers domestically as they have only scored twice in their three Serie A away games, alongside being held by Ajax in their only away Champions League outing so far.

They are 9/2 to beat Real Madrid and inflict a first defeat on Mourinho since his move to Spain from Inter.

Gonzalo Higuain has already scored twice for Real Madrid in the Champions League this season and is 6/5 to find the target within the 90 minutes against Milan.

Alexandre Pato scored twice at the Bernabeu last season and is 5/2 to find the net at any time against Real Madrid in the Champions League betting odds.

The other Group G clash pits Ajax against Auxerre and both will know that a victory is essential if they harbour any hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages of the competition.

Ajax have won just one of their last five home matches in UEFA competition, but remain the 4/6 favourites to beat Auxerre.

The French side are 9/2 to return home with the three points and collect their first points of this season’s Champions League campaign.

Real Madrid are 1/3 to finish at the head of Group G after each team has played all of their six games. See the full Group G winners betting odds market.
