QPR to put Swansea’s title-winning credentials to the test

Published:

A greater indication as to whether Swansea are true promotion contenders or not may become clearer after the next round of Championship fixtures as they host current pace setters QPR.

Swansea have taken 13 points out of 15 at home in the Championship this season, which matches the form of QPR on their travels.

There is little between the pair in the betting, with Swansea the slight favourites at 6/4 to beat QPR, while the visitors are 9/5 to return home three points better off.

Swansea may take added confidence from the fact that they have conceded just once in their five Championship games at the Liberty Stadium, while they have also kept clean sheets in the last two seasons in their home clashes with QPR.

Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough were two of the pre-season favourites to win the Championship, but both have struggled for consistency in the opening quarter of the season to sit in the bottom half of the table.

Forest remain unbeaten at home, but four draws from their five games at the City Ground is not good enough form to secure promotion to the Premier League.

They are 10/11 to beat Middlesbrough, with the visitors 3/1 to gain their first away victory of the campaign.

Forest did also win both home games against Middlesbrough last season, which included a victory after extra time in the second round of the Carling Cup.

One of the most likely home wins seems to be at Turf Moor where Burnley host Barnsley.

Both teams have been impressive at home this season and completely the opposite on their travels, with neither able to secure an away win.

Barnsley are 4/1 to end this run, but the safer money will be on Burnley to beat Barnsley at 4/6.

QPR are currently four points clear of Cardiff at the top of the Championship and 11/8 to win the title. See the full Championship winners betting odds market.
