Liverpool facing sticky Toffee drubbing?

Published:

Everton are 11/8 with Ladbrokes to beat Liverpool in Sunday’s Merseyside derby, the first time in 6 years that they have been favourites to beat their rivals.

The Reds are 2/1 to overcome their off-field distractions with a win, while the draw is 9/4.

In the weekend’s other stand-out fixture, Aston Villa are 4/1 to beat Chelsea at home, a year after they inflicted a 2-1 defeat on Carlo Ancelotti’s side. The Blues have scored ten goals in the sides’ last two meetings and are 8/11 to win, with the draw 5/2.

Elsewhere, Manchester City are 8/13 to overcome Blackpool at Bloomfield Road, while Manchester United (1/4) and Arsenal (3/10) are hot favourites to overcome their Midlands visitors West Brom and Birmingham, respectively.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said, “A trip across Stanley Park is the last thing Liverpool need right now, and with Everton looking to have turned the corner after their own poor start, this will be a difficult game for the Reds.”
