Carlos Tevez targets golden boot as scoring streak continues

Manchester City moved second in the Premier League table after a thrilling final 15 minutes at Bloomfield Road on Sunday.

With Manchester United stuttering to a draw against West Brom, Man City have now been cut to 6/1 to win the Premier League, with Man Utd drifting out to 4/1.

Carlos Tevez was once again the star of the show for Man City, the captain struggled to influence the game in the early stages as Blackpool proved tough to break down, but his 68th minute strike changed the course of the game.

Four goals, including a second for Tevez, in the last 15 minutes meant the Blackpool fans left the ground with their money’s worth, but the Tangerines fans will be disappointed they didn’t come away with at least a point.

But the little Argentinian striker proved to be the difference in a game where Emmanuel Adebayor continued to demonstrate all the attributes that led to Arsene Wenger selling him.

The Togalese striker’s bone idleness visibly frustrated his team mates, and the January transfer window could see the end of Adebayor’s Man City career.

With Tevez in such fine form, Roberto Mancini won’t be too worried about letting Adebayor go after Tevez pushed his tally for the season to seven, and he leads the Premier League top scorer market.

Tevez is now the 5/2 second favourite to be the top Premier League goalscorer behind Didier Drogba, who is on six goals and is priced at 2/1.

But his 28 league goals in his last 31 appearances suggest Carlos Tevez isn’t going to stop finding the net anytime soon.

With games against Wolves and West Brom following Man City’s clash with Arsenal, there is a fair chance he will still lead the scoring charts into November.
