Bet on Everton vs Stoke City – Toffees have turned corner

Published:

Both games between Everton and Stoke ended in draws last season, but David Moyes’ men need to aim much higher this time around.

Match Odds

A good draw at Spurs last weekend has Everton sitting just outside the top half and they can go as high as seventh if they beat Stoke at Goodison Park.

The Toffees are unbeaten in their last five games, with good results including a morale boosting win in the Merseyside derby and a win to end Birmingham’s year-long record of not losing at home.

Everton’s problem this season has been scoring goals, as they’ve only got nine so far.

None of their strikers have scored yet this campaign and they’ve had to rely on Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta for goals.

Fortunately, five goals in their last three outings make them a good bet to win at 4/7.

Stoke, meanwhile, have lost their last three matches and enter the game in 13th spot.

They’re still without Ricardo Fuller, but Tuncay may start after his wonder goal against Manchester United.

Stoke are made 5/1 to win, while the draw is at 11/4.

Win To Nil

Although Everton haven’t been scoring goals, they haven’t been conceding them either.

Tim Howard’s howler last week was the first time they’d conceded in four matches and they kept Tottenham at bay very impressively.

Stoke haven’t been as defensively robust as they might have liked in recent times, shipping six in their last three games, but they kept Everton out the last time the two met and will be hard to break down.

Everton’s miserly defence makes them 5/4 to win to nil, while Stoke’s recent leaky form makes them 13/2 and a much bigger pay day if it comes off, as it did the last time the two sides met.
