Bet on Cologne vs Borussia Dortmund – Gotze will run riot

Borussia Dortmund will come into their clash with Cologne brimming with confidence after an incredible start to the Bundesliga season.

Having won their last six league games and sitting second in the table, they will expect do well against a Cologne side who have just one win so far this season.

They’re three points behind Mainz, who continue to shock everyone with a perfect record of seven wins from seven games.

Dortmund came through the biggest test they’ve faced so far with flying colours last time out, beating champions Bayern Munich 2-0 at the Westfalenstadion.

Their superb start has led to the odds on their title challenge being cut to to 2/1, making them second favourites behind Bayern who are 6/4.

Much of their good form has been due to the emergence of Mario Gotze.

The 18-year-old has just signed a two year contract extension with the club and has been in sparkling form this season.

National boss Joachim Loew has also indicated he want to fast track Gotze into the senior squad for the friendly with Sweden in November.

Whether Gotze continues his amazing form or not, Dortmund should realistically claim all three points in Cologne and are priced at 5/6 to do so.

Cologne will rely on local hero and talisman Lukas Podolski, who gave up sitting on the bench at Bayern Munich to come back and play for the club where he started his footballing life.

Podolski has scored twice for Cologne this season and will need to be at his brilliant best if he can help his side add to their five points so far this season.

They’re marked at 11/4 to beat Dortmund and will need to end a run of four games without a win to do that.

Dortmund are 14/1 to win 3-1 against Cologne. See the fullBundesliga betting odds market here.
