Bet on Blackburn vs Chelsea – Routine win for the Blues

Published:

They might be five points clear at the top of table, but Chelsea can’t afford to get complacent as they take on Blackburn.

Match Odds

Chelsea made short work of Wolves last week without ever really playing well and have enjoyed a week off after their Carling Cup exit to Newcastle.

Their form is formidable too, four wins in their last five matches, including confident wins over Arsenal and Spartak Moscow.

Blackburn are not doing so well, with one win in eight and will not be relishing this encounter with Chelsea.

Given this, the fact Blackburn haven’t beaten Chelsea in their last 11 attempts and the return to fitness of Didier Drogba, the Blues’ rating at 1/2 for a win is unsurprising.

Blackburn’s home record is not so bad though, with just one defeat at Ewood Park all season and at 6/1 could be a good shot, if Chelsea are off their game.

Even if Chelsea are off their game, you’d probably be better going for a draw at 3/1.

To Keep A Clean Sheet

Chelsea’s record of keeping clean sheets this season has been absolutely superb.

They’ve only conceded two goals in the league so far this campaign and are made 5/6 to do it again this weekend.

Blackburn’s record is far less formidable, with ten goals shipped so far this year.

This could be far worse though and is the lowest of the teams in the bottom half of the table.

Paul Robinson has been in good form in goal and they will be delighted to welcome skipper Chris Samba back from suspension.

They’ve kept out Sunderland and Everton so far this season and are made 5/1 to manage it against the league leaders.

They will though have to contend with a fit again Drogba though, who’s back after missing the last three games.

Samba is 16/1 to score the first goal against Chelsea, follow the full Barclays Premier League odds market here.
