Bellamy really looking forward to clash with former club Norwich

Cardiff captain Craig Bellamy has said he feels fit and ready to lay down a marker against Norwich this weekend.

“I’m feeling good, better than at any stage this season,” said Bellamy.

The Wales skipper also revealed he’d struggled to maintain his fitness in the early part of the season.

“Last week was the first time after a match I was able to train fully. When I first came to Cardiff I had been injured and I was only able to train seven times in two and a half months. It’s been tough, but right now everything feels right,” Bellamy said.

Bellamy started his career at Norwich, but will not let sentiment get in the way when he faces them this weekend.

Cardiff come into this game in superb form, with four wins in their last four, including the recent demolition of Leeds when they won 4-0 at Elland Road.

The Bluebirds are still unbeaten at home this season and have only dropped four points in the process.

They’ve also scored 25 goals in their 13 games this season so far, with Bellamy, Michael Chopra and Chris Burke contributing two each, alongside top scorer Jay Bothroyd’s nine.

Bothroyd is 4/1 to score the first goal against Norwich and is now the favourite at 5/1 to be the Championship’s leading goal scorer this year, overtaking QPR’s Jamie Mackie who’s now 8/1.

Despite Cardiff’s formidable form, the Canaries won’t be lacking in confidence themselves.

They’ve picked up three wins and two draws from their six away games this season, including a credible 0-0 draw away at leaders QPR and good wins away at Scunthorpe and Preston.

A price of 7/2 on a Norwich win suggests it’s far from a long shot, but Cardiff are still heavy favourites at 8/11 with 11/4 on it being a draw.

Simeon Jackson has three goals in four games for the Canaries and at 9/1 is a good bet for a first goalscorer.
