Roma vs Inter – Champions next for under pressure Ranieri

Published:

Roma have made a tentative start to the current Serie A season which has piled the pressure on manager Claudio Ranieri, so it’s not the ideal time to host the reigning champions and league leaders who have a striker in red hot form.

Match Odds

High hopes were present at Roma during pre-season after they narrowly missed out on the Serie A title to Inter in the last campaign.

However, a strong title challenge already seems to be a distant aspiration as Roma are still seeking their first win of the season after four games and sit second bottom of the table.

They are 23/10 to beat Inter in the Serie A betting odds and take the first step in getting their season back on track and can take some hope from their 2-1 home victory over Inter in March.

Inter have already beaten Roma this season in the Italian Super Cup and come into the game looking for their fourth success on the bounce.

Rafa Benitez’ team are 6/5 to win at Roma and maintain their position at the head of the Serie A table.

First Goalscorer

Samuel Eto’o has made a blistering start to the campaign for Inter with eight goals in all competitions, including five strikes in just four Serie A games.

Eto’o scored a second-half double in the Super Cup win and is 11/2 to score first against Roma.

Strike partner Diego Milito scored twice against Roma last season and recently found his shooting boots with a double in a 4-0 win over Bari.

He is 5/1 to open the scoring against Roma, who are without regular goalkeeper Julio Sergio and key defender Philippe Mexes is suspended.

Daniele De Rossi scored first in Roma’s win over Inter last season. See the complete Roma vs Inter match betting market.
