Quagliarella needs time to develop understanding with Del Piero

Fabio Quagliarella insists that Juventus will improve over the course of the Serie A season as a number of their new arrivals begin to gel and many also improve their match sharpness.

Juventus lost their opening game of the season at Bari, but followed up with a 3-3 draw against Sampdoria, with Quagliarella grabbing his team’s third goal in the game on his home debut.

Although he was happy with his own contribution, the Italian striker added that his partnership with Alessandro Del Piero, with whom he has only played with at international level, is still in its early stages and other new signings are also still finding their feet.

He said: “We can’t but improve. I had only played with Del Piero for La Nazionale and it’s normal that with time our understanding will improve.

“Right now it’s important that everyone finds their best shape seeing that many of us did not do a full pre-season.”

Juventus are 6/1 to win Serie A and Sampdoria forward Antonio Cassano feels that the club cannot be written off as title contenders after he was impressed by their display in the 3-3 draw.

He offered particular praise to new Juventus coach Luigi Del Neri, who will be keen to gain his first victory when the team travel to Udinese for their next Serie A game.

Juventus are 7/5 to take maximum points and have won at Udinese in three of the last five seasons.

However, they lost 3-0 at Stadio Friuli last season, with Simone Pepe one of the scorers against the side he joined over the summer.

A repeat of the 3-0 victory for Udinese is 28/1. See the whole Udinese vs Juventus match betting market.
