Murray faces Brown as Jamaican targets British Davis Cup spot

The world number 123 became the first Jamaican to win a match at the US Open in 40 years when he disposed of Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo in straight sets, but knows he’s a huge underdog going into the battle with Murray.
Murray will need to be aware of the Jamaican’s strengths as the hype begins to overshadow the match and can’t become complacent against a man ranked 119 places above him.
However Murray is a very strong 1/100 favourite and is 1/6 to win in straight sets, something he will need to do to convince punters the 5/2 for him to win the US Open title is good value.
Number one seed Rafael Nadal is also in action in the second round where he faces Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan.
Despite winning his first round in straight sets, Nadal needed a tiebreak to win the first two sets and is yet to hit top form on the hard courts this summer.
Nadal is third favourite at 10/3 to win the US Open despite being the number one seed but will be confident of registering a straight sets win over the Uzbekistani and is 4/11 to do so.
