‘I’m good enough to manage Real Madrid’, claims Allardyce

| 18.09.2010

Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce believes he has the credentials to manage Real Madrid.

Allardyce’s Rovers welcome Fulham to Ewood Park today, but the former Bolton boss is setting his sights far beyond this midtable clash.

“I would be more suited to Inter Milan or Real Madrid,” Allardyce said. “It wouldn’t be a problem for me to manage those clubs because I would win the double or the league every time.”

Blackburn are priced at evens to beat Fulham, and Allardyce believes he and his opposite number, Mark Hughes, have been given a raw deal during their tenures at bigger clubs.

“His Manchester City reign obviously was not long enough. A little bit like me at Newcastle, but I didn’t last quite as long as Sparky,” Allardyce added.

Allardyce managed just 24 games at Newcastle, a job he landed after establishing Bolton as a Premier League fixture.

And although his CV is comprised of the somewhat modest likes of Limerick, Blackpool and Notts County, Allardyce believes he is destined for the top.

“Give me Manchester United or Chelsea and I would do the same, it wouldn’t be a problem,” the Blackburn boss added.

“It’s not a problem to take me into the higher reaches of the Champions League or Premier League and would make my job a lot easier in winning it.”

Can Fulham bring Allardyce back down to earth? Hughes’ men are 11/4 to beat Blackburn. See the full Blackburn vs Fulham Match Betting Odds market.
