Hull City in the hunt for Leicester striker Matty Fryatt
Published:Nigel Pearson returns to work after a week off and has made his first order of business landing Matty Fryatt from Leicester City.
Pearson has been declared fit by the doctors after suffering from chest pains, and in a bid to land Fryatt, he’s willing to offer Kamil Zayatte as bait.
Leicester are already in talks with Hull about a loan deal for centre-back Zayatte witha view to a £1m permanent move and Pearson believes he can snare Leicester’s prolific forward as part of the deal.
Fryatt has netted 60 times in 148 starts for Leicester and Hull could do with a goalscorer as they look to improve on their poor start to life in the Championship after being relegated from the Premier League.
Hull are 33/1 to top the Championship come the end of the season and the acquisition of Fryatt would go a long way to helping them push current leaders QPR, Cardiff and Ipswich all the way.
Fryatt is also 33/1 to top the Championship scoring charts and after his 23 goals in the 2008/09 season, he certainly has the capability to do so.
Despite the transfer window being closed loan moves are available to clubs in emergency situations, but clubs seem to be able to loan players regardless of an emergency and Hull and Leicester will look to exploit the potential loop hole.
Meanwhile Jimmy Bullard is fit to play for the Tigers again but can forget about walking back into the team and must fight for his first team place said Hull Head of Football Operations Adam Pearson.
The £45,000 a week player couldn’t fashion a move away from the KC Stadium and will have to wait until January to search for a new club.
