French winger heads to Gillingham on three month deal

Andy Hessenthaler hopes that the signing of French winger, Bruce Inkango, can provide the Gills with something different in their quest to bounce straight back up to League One.

Relegated from League One last season, Gillingham have struggled to come to terms with life in League Two taking just six points from seven games in this early stage of the season and have drifted to 20/1 in the League Two Championship betting market.

But Gills boss Hessenthaler has been impressed enough by Inkango during his trial to offer the Frenchman a deal and a chance at first team football.

“This kid can turn a game with his pace and his trickery,” said Hessenthaler.

Inkango last featured in a first team match for French third division side Red Star 93, and after leaving the French club Gillingham have been able to sign him as he is a free agent.

However Hessenthaler will have to wait for international clearance before Inkango can make his debut, although the Gills boss is hopeful it will be in time for the home match against Burton Albion on Saturday.

Inkango is an unknown quantity but Gills fans will be hoping to see some of his skills as they search for wins to take them up the table.

Gillingham are 11/10 to win the game with seventh placed Burton, but a win over Paul Peschisolido’s side would put them just a point behind Burton in the table.

The sides have only met once before, in last season’s FA Cup where Gillingham ran out 1-0 winners, it’s 7/1 for the same result to happen on Saturday.

Burton are 12/5 to come away with all three points. See the full Gillingham vs Burton Albion match betting market here.
