Epic Djokovic duel awaits Nadal in quest for historic US Open

Rafael Nadal takes on Novak Djokovic in the US Open final with history on his mind, as the Spaniard aims to capture the only Grand Slam which he has yet to win.

The world number one is the 2/7 favourite to win this mouthwatering encounter, though his Serbian opponent will prove to be a difficult hurdle to clear.

Djokovic reached the final after overcoming Roger Federer in an epic five-set semi-final, and the Serb is priced at 5/2 to beat Nadal.

Nadal, meanwhile, had a much smoother passage to the final, breezing past Mikhail Youzhny 6-2 6-3 6-4.

The Spaniard has been typically formidable at Flushing Meadows, and a straight sets win for Nadal against Djokovic is available at 11/8.

Djokovic will be encouraged, however, by his recent record against the world number one: Djokovic has won his last three matches against Nadal.

With this head-to-head advantage, coupled with his recent Federer-conquering form, Djokovic looks more than capable of carving out another famous win, and a five-set victory for the Serb looks like excellent value at 7/1.

Nadal will be wary of the threat his opponent poses, but the Spaniard has a record of his own which will give him heart.

On the four occasions that the two players have met each other in a final, Nadal has won all four clashes.

Djokovic has won his last three matches against Nadal in straight sets. Can he do it again? He is priced at 10/1 to do so. See the full Rafael Nadal vs Novak Djokovic Match Betting Odds market.
