Unbeaten Torquay take on promotion rivals Port Vale

Published:

Bradford host Southend in the first of this weekend’s League Two fixtures and Bradford will be looking to bounce back from their Carling Cup defeat at home to Preston in midweek.

Bradford have an excellent home league record, winning five and drawing one of their last six games, scoring ten and conceding four and are strong 8/11 favourites to come away with all three points.

Southend are yet to win in League Two after being relegated from League One last season and have only ever beaten Bradford on the road once in 14 attempts, although that win came the last time Southend visited Bradford in 2005.

In the league’s tie of the weekend, unbeaten Torquay make the visit to Port Vale and Vale will need to be weary of Torquay’s Elliot Benyon, who has three goals in three games and is 6/1 to score first and continue his goal per game ratio.

Vale drew their only home game this season 1-1 with Chesterfield on the first day of the season, but have won both games away from home since, scoring five goals, and will provide Torquay with the sternest test they’ve faced this season.

This fixture ended in a 2-2 draw last season but Torquay are yet to concede this term and are on an 11 game run of clean sheets, so Port Vale will need to break down a strong Torquay defence if they are to come away with a win and are priced at 13/10 to do so.

Crewe hammered Barnet 7-0 last weekend but will have a tougher task away to Lincoln and a repeat of last season’s 1-1 draw looks good value at 11/2.

Torquay can continue their unbeaten run but only with a draw at the Vale. See the full NPower League Two football betting market here.
