Roddick survives Soderling to set up clash with Djokovic

Cincinnati will play host to a quarter final of epic proportions when Andy Roddick faces Novak Djokovic in the Western and Southern Masters later this evening.

Roddick came through a late night classic against the stubborn Robin Soderling last night in a match few expected him to win, proving the American is finding his form in time for the US Open.

Sitting a set and a break up, the American crowd were delighted to find Roddick in control of the Swede until Soderling saved match point in the second set tie-break, extending the match into a third set.

Roddick made hard work of the third set, losing five break points and three match points in the twelth game before taking the tie-break, 7-5, in a match that lasted two hours and 44 minutes.

Djokovic on the other hand beat David Nalbandian 6-1, 7-6, earlier in the day and will arrive on court fresh to face a player he has yet to meet this year.

However, in 2009 they met three times with Roddick victorious on all three occasions, dropping just the one set at the Australian Open and he’s available at 10/3 to defeat Djokovic in straight sets.

Another Roddick upset could be on the cards with Djokovic highly fancied at 1/2.

Andy Murray vs Mardy Fish

Fighting for a place in the semi-final against either Djokovic or Roddick will be one of two in-form players in Andy Murray and Mardy Fish.

Murray, off the back of his Rogers Cup victory over Roger Federer, will be looking to avenge both defeats he has suffered to Fish earlier in the year and is a short 8/15 to be victorious.

Fish is also off the back of a tournament victory so expect the match to go the distance with a three-set match available at 8/13.

Roddick is great value at 6/4 to continue his three match winning streak against Djokovic. See the full Djokovic vs Roddick Match Betting Odds market.
