Krasic leaving CSKA to help Juventus in Europa League quest
Published:Juventus are set to further reinforce their squad ahead of an assault on the Europa League after having an offer accepted for Serbian winger Milos Krasic.
Krasic was left out of CSKA’s team for their own Europe League play-off encounter against Anorthosis Famagusta, which only enhanced the speculation that he would be moving on to pastures new.
A €15m deal has now been agreed with Juventus, with the 25-year-old heading to Turin to undergo a medical before reportedly signing a five-year contract.
Krasic became the chief transfer target of the Serie A outfit after they failed to negotiate a deal with Wolfsburg for star striker Edin Dzeko.
He joins the likes of Leonardo Bonucci, Marco Motta and Simone Pepe as new faces at Juventus as they look to overcome odds of 14/1 to win the Europa League.
A statement from CSKA’s official website read: “CSKA Moscow have agreed to sell Milos Krasic to Juventus.
“He will travel to Turin to sign a contract in the coming days. We will always remember Milos and wish him good luck at his new club.”
Meanwhile, Juventus are in pole position to reach the group stages of the Europa League following an away victory at Sturm Graz in the first leg of the final qualifying round.
Amauri netted in second-half stoppage-time to give Juventus a 2-1 win in Austria ahead of the return leg at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino.
Juventus are also 4/1 to win the Serie A title for the first time since 2003 after they could only finish seventh last season.
Napoli and Palermo are other Italian clubs competing in the Europa League and are both 25/1 to triumph in the tournament.
