Gillingham vs Lincoln – Celtic’s Hutchinson signs to boost visitors

Published:

Lincoln City have signed Celtic striker Ben Hutchinson on a season-long loan deal, and the 22-year-old is expected to feature in the Imps’ next match against Gillingham.

As 4/1 outsiders to claim an unlikely away win at the Priestfield Stadium, little is expected of Lincoln on Saturday, but their new signing could be a big boost.

Hutchinson is 9/1 to open the scoring against the Gills, and the young forward is already in good form, having scored two goals for Celtic against his new side in a pre-season friendly at Sincil Bank.

“Ben will certainly score goals at this level,” said Lincoln manager Chris Sutton. “He is particularly quick and powerful. It is a major coup for the club that he has agreed to join us.”

Hutchinson, who had loan spells with Swindon and Dundee last season, has been with Celtic since joining from Middlesbrough in 2008.

Gillingham, meanwhile, have yet to win this season, and they are priced at 8/11 to claim their first victory in front of their home fans.

Stevenage vs Stockport
Another interesting match-up on Saturday, sees two League Two newcomers, Stevenage and Stockport, do battle.

Stevenage have yet to taste victory since winning promotion from the Conference and they are 5/6 to register their first win against their Lancastrian opponents.

Having been relegated from League One last season, Stockport are also chasing a first victory of the season, and they are 7/2 to do so on Saturday.

Who will break the deadlock between Stevenage and Stockport? Charlie Griffin is the 5/1 favourite to do so. See the full Stevenage vs Stockport Match Betting Odds market.
