Eight draws in League Two but Torquay extend unbeaten run

Torquay continue to make the headlines in League two as they maintained their unbeaten start to the campaign with a 2-1 victory at Port Vale courtesy of a Nicky Wroe penalty and a Chris Zebroski effort that shortened their title odds to 9/2.

Vale meanwhile, suffered their first loss of the season and have lengthened to 10/1 for the League Two title.

Wesley Thomas continued his fine run in front of goal with his fifth goal of the season as Cheltenham Town came from behind to beat Burton Albion 2-1 and move up to sixth, Thomas is 12/1 to be the League’s top goalscorer.

Cheltenham responded well to last weeks disappointment at Rotherham where they led 3-1 before losing the game 6-4, and they will be buoyed by their own comeback this week as they seek a top half finish after battling relegation for the past two seasons.

Rotherham United moved up to second thanks to Paul Warne’s strike on the stroke of half time against Hereford, leaving Rotherham 6/1 for the title, just two points behind Torquay.

Shrewsbury are also two points behind Torquay thanks to goals from Jake Robinson, Matt Harrold and Mark Wright leaving winless Stockport County stuck in the relegation zone.

Elsewhere there were draws in all eight of the remaining games with the pick of the results being Macclesfield Town’s 1-1 draw with fourth place Chesterfield as they seek to move out of the relegation zone.

Torquay continue to look impressive and are 9/2 to win the Championship. Follow the latest League Two football betting market here.
