Liverpool’s European qualifying round opposition revealed

Liverpool’s third round qualifying match for the Europa League will be against either Rabotnicki from Macedonia, or Mika from Armenia.

It will mark Roy Hodgson’s first competitive match in charge of Liverpool – with the home leg taking place on July 29th, and then away on August 5th – and should see the new manager getting off to a winning start.

He will obviously be very keen to continue his magnificent run in the Europa League, which saw him guide Fulham all the way to the final against Atletico Madrid last season.

Liverpool fans will be relieved to know that neither team has ever made it past the third qualifying round for the Europa League, with Rabotnicki losing 3-7 on aggregate to the Danish side Odense BK at this stage last year.

Liverpool are the second favourites to win the competition, with odds of 9/1.

Elsewhere, should the Dublin side Shamrock Rovers manage to squeeze past Bnei Yehuda of Israel in their second round clash, they will get to face the might of Juventus.

It’s currently deadlocked at 1-1, with the second leg pending.

Juventus are currently considered to be the fourth most likely team to enjoy the warm Europa League glow of victory next summer, with rather tempting odds of 14/1 to go all the way.
