Football betting has gathered momentum again and Manchester City’s odds of 9/2 to win the Europa League make them the early favourites for the major European trophy.
Roberto Mancini spent big in the summer improving his squad and they have made a strong start in Group A.
The Europa League betting odds offer Liverpool to win at 8/1. Having won the competition in its previous incarnation, the Uefa Cup, Liverpool have experience of succeeding in Europe, and have made a solid, if not entertaining start in the Europa League.
Europa League odds also present Porto as a tempting bet. Champions League winners in 2004, the Portuguese outfit are consistently solid performers in European competitions, and they could be worth backing to win the Europa League at 14/1.
Also at 14/1, Atletico Madrid are among the most attractive Europa League prices. The La Liga side won last season’s tournament with an extra-time win against Fulham and with World Cup Golden Ball winner Diego Forlan in their ranks, they could defend their title this season.
Spanish compatriots Sevilla are priced at 12/1 to experience Europa League glory, ahead of Italian giants Juventus, 14/1, who like Manchester City have remained busy in the transfer market in the close season.
Villarreal and Borussia Dortmund are among the bigger-priced teams at 20/1 and 28/1 respectively to win the Europa League and both have started the season well, particularly domestically.
Zenit St Petersburg, CSKA Moscow and Stuttgart have taken maximum points in their Europa League games and are 12/1, 14/1 and 20/1 respectively to triumph in the competition.
