One of England’s brightest hopes at the Open, Justin Rose, has been paired with world number one Tiger Woods for the first two rounds at St Andrews.

Rose is 25/1 to win his maiden major title, and he and Woods will be joined on the tee by Camilo Villegas, who is 80/1 to secure his first major.

Woods begins the tournament as the clear favourite at 5/1, having won the Open on three occasions, and twice at St Andrews.

Another British contender to win the Open at 33/1, Ian Poulter will begin the championship alongside reigning champion Stewart Cink and former Open winner Ernie Els.

World number two and reigning Masters champion Phil Mickelson is 16/1 to claim the claret jug, and he will play with Retief Goosen and Europe’s Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie.

Fresh from his weekend win at the Scottish Open, Edoardo Molinari is available at 80/1 to secure his first major title at St Andrews.

Having recently won two PGA events, Rose enters the Open in good form, and playing alongside the mighty Woods, all eyes will be on the 29-year-old Englishman’s group.
