Arsenal to unleash new recruits against Milan at Emirates Cup

Arsenal are set to hand home debuts to Marouane Chamakh and Laurent Koscielny as they welcome Italian giants AC Milan to the Emirates Cup.

Moroccan striker Chamakh has arrived from Bordeaux, and he is 7/2 to open the scoring, while Koscielny will slot in at centre-back having signed from Lorient.

Arsenal are 5/6 favourites to win the match, and they will take inspiration from their last meeting against AC Milan in 2008.

The Gunners won that Champions League tie 2-0 at the San Siro, and a victory of the same margin for Arsene Wenger’s men is priced at 7/1.

Much has been made of the aging nature of the AC Milan squad in recent seasons, and their starting XI in North London should be typically seasoned.

The star of AC Milan’s last campaign, Ronaldinho, has reportedly been ruled out of the match with injury.

It could be left to another Brazilian, Alexandre Pato, to provide the fireworks for the Rossoneri, and the 20-year-old is 7/1 to score first.

Celtic vs Lyon
Celtic will want to purge themselves of their 3-0 midweek humiliation at the hands of Braga in the first leg of the Champions League qualifier.

The Bhoys are 13/5 to beat Lyon, and the Emirates could be treated to a glimpse of new signings Joe Ledley, Cha Du-Ri and Efrain Juarez.

With the return leg against Braga in midweek, however, Neil Lennon is likely to rest the majority of his first-team players, and a Lyon win could be worth backing at 5/6.

The Champions League semi-finalists are the 6/4 favourites to win France’s Ligue 1 this season, and their star-studded squad should have too much quality for Celtic to handle.
