Ladbrokes pay out on goal that never was

Ladbrokes have paid out on their Geoff Hurst special market despite Frank Lampard’s ‘goal’ against Germany not being given.

The firm had quoted 10/1 about a Three Lions strike going in off the crossbar.

Spokesman Nick Weinberg said: “It was the most popular special market prior to kick off. Everyone bar Geoff Hurst was on.

“Everybody could see that it was in, apart from the men that mattered most.”
