Greece vs Nigeria – teams announced
Published:Nigeria put in a pretty decent show against Argentina, whilst the Greeks have been fairly unimpressive so far.
Hence, Obafemi Martins – the only Nigeria player to get a shot on target against Argentina – will be looking to cash in on his lively cameo in the first match by smashing in a goal to kickstart their campaign in the second.
He has already scored 17 for Nigeria in 32 games, and his odds to be the first scorer are 11/2,
His will, however, be starting on the bench, which could make his team mate Yakubu a more tempting first scorer, with odds of 5/1. Liverpool’s Kyrgiakos has been recalled to beef up the Greece defence.
Neither team can afford to lose.
The confirmed starting line ups are:
Greece: Alexandros Tzorvas; Loukas Vyntra, Sotiris Kyrgiakos, Vassilis Torosidis, Alexandros Tziolis, Avraam Papadopoulos, Socratis Papastathopoulos, Giorgos Karagounis, Kostas Katsouranis; Dimitris Salpingidis, Fanis Gekas.
Nigeria: Vincent Enyeama; Chidi Odiah, Danny Shittu, Joseph Yobo, Taye Taiwo, Kalu Uche, Dickson Etuhu, Haruna Lukman, Sani Kaita, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, Peter Odemwingie.
