England vs Algeria – James and Heskey both start

Published:

Fabio Capello has dropped Robert Green after his mistake against the USA and brought in David James for the England v Algeria match, which kicks off at 7.30pm.

England are 8/15 to keep a clean sheet.

Emile Heskey (7/1 to score first) retains his place up front with Wayne Rooney (3/1) despite the suggestion Jermain Defoe or Peter Crouch might be preferred.

Jamie Carragher keeps his place next to John Terry at the heart of England’s defence, while Gareth Barry makes his long-awaited return to competitive football after injury.

The set up and formation looks to be the same as against the Americans with only the personnel changing.

Algeria also change their goalkeeper after a blunder with Fawzi Chaouchi making way for Raïs M’Bohli.

The 24-year-old replacement has only played one game for his country, coming on as a sub for Chaouchi in the 68th minute of the friendly against Republic of Ireland, conceding the third goal.

Algeria are 6/1 to keep a clean sheet.

The only other swap from the first match comes with Ryad Boudebouz replacing Rafik Zoheir Djebbour in midfield. The uncapped 20-year-old played nine times for Frane Under-19s scoring one goal. He’s 7/1 to score at any time.
