Brazil vs Chile – teams announced
Published:Each manager makes changes to their team for Brazil’s match with Chile, but while Dunga can welcome back injured and suspeded players, Marcelo Bielsa has named a completely new centre-back pairing. The match kicks off at 7.30pm.
Playmaker Kaka returns from his ludicrous suspension and supports Robinho, who is back from a thigh injury, in attack. Kaka is 8/1 to open the scoring, while Robinho is 5/1.
Elano hasn’t fully regained fitness after his knock, though, meaning Daniel Alves keeps his place.
The other change to Brazil’s strongest XI is Ramires in for Felipe Melo, who has an ankle injury.
Marcelo Bielsa’s hand is largely forced by three suspensions with Pablo Contreras in for Waldo Ponce and Ismael Fuentes in for Gary Medel in the centre of Chile’s defence, while Carlos Carmona replaces Marco Estrada in central midfield after the latter was sent off against Spain.
Bielsa brings back Humberto Suazo up front for Jorge Valdivia. Suazo scored 10 goals in qualifying, including two against Brazil, and is 12/1 to grab the first goal.
Brazil, 7/2 second favourites to win the World Cup, are 1/2 to win this one in 90 minutes, while Chile are 6/1 outsiders to come out victorious in normal time.
