All of the X Factor fans angry and disappointed that Jade Richards was eliminated at the judges’ house stage may get a second chance to see their favourite in the live shows.
In typical and predictable X Factor fashion, viewers were left hanging ahead of the start of the live shows after being promised a surprise twist.
Although it would not be that much of a surprise as it was done last year, it is 4/6 in the X Factor odds that the twist is that a previously eliminated contestant is given another opportunity.
One contestant from each category was given another chance at this stage last year, but viewers should not get ahead of themselves.
The outrage last series was that Gamu Nhengu did not make the live shows, but she was still neglected when the judges got to bring in a fourth act each.
There would almost certainly not be enough time in the TV slot to have 20 acts on the first live show, even if they introduced an extra shock elimination in the opening week.
Another possibility in relation to the twist is that some tinkering is done to the judging panel.
Some rumours suggest that the judges will switch categories, which is unlikely but would give Louis Walsh a substantially better chance of victory.
It is 3/1 that a change is made to judging panel, while Simon Cowell is 10/1 and Cheryl Cole 14/1 to return as judges.
One novel twist would be to bring back one of the duo and allow them to mentor just one act who has failed to make the live shows, in comparison to the four managed by the other judges.
