Andy Murray capped a tremendous year in style by walking away with the 2015 Sports Personality of the Year award on Sunday night.

The tennis star was the vital cog in the Great Britain Davis Cup team, which ended a 79-year wait to be crowned champions, with Murray at the heart of the action.

The Scot was undefeated in singles rubbers throughout the tournament and won all three of his matches, including the doubles with his brother Jamie, in the final against Belgium.

That was enough for Murray to see off all challengers and take over from Formula 1’s Lewis Hamilton as the SPOTY king.
